From the Concerto for Horn nr. 4 KV 495. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by David Miller. Baton Music instrumental series. From the Concerto for Horn nr. 4 KV 495. Full score. Duration 7:30. Baton Music #BM414-SCORE. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM414-SCORE).

Most of Mozart's solo horn music was composed between 1781 and 1789 for his friend and fellow freemason, Ignaz Leutgeb, an accomplished player from Salzburg who continued to perform after setting up as a cheese merchant in Vienna. The four concertos (KV 412, KV 417,KV 447 and KV 495) and the Rondo KV 371 are all genial, supremely tuneful and undemanding pieces of music, composed before valve-horns were invented so that the full range of notes could only be produced by dextrous use of the hand inside the bell of the instrument. This transcription concerns the first movement of Mozart's fourth and last concerto for Horn: Allegro moderato.
