Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576437).This curious composition in five time which explores some of the ideas of canon or fugal writing was originally written as a response to a challenge in the online group "La Musique Petite" back in the late 1990s. I have since tidied it up and made it into a quirky journey in five time (hence "Quintaquirk"). The harpsichord part can be played by an electronic keyboard. The following, even more curious, poem of mine illustrates some of the ideas: Along the road to Quintaquirk A man approached me with a smirk, "Beware, oh friend, the things that lurk Just down that road to Quintaquirk." I didn't heed his cautious word I thought his warning quite absurd No danger midst the branches stirred No lurking beast this way had erred. And anyway, it was my work, My duty there I would not shirk, So he retreated to the murk, And I went on to Quintaquirk. == The pdf file contains score and parts.
