PL.0707. simple, yet subtly varied setting of the Sequence Hymn for Pentecost. written for singers in unison with handbells and a simple percussion part. each pair of verses is set to identical music, with a sense of festivity as well as mystery. a wonderful introit or processional for Pentecost The tabor could be a hand-held drum, and it plays the same rhythm througout the piece. Both Latin and English versions are provided for the choir. There are 10 verses, which could be sung by diverse groups. women, men, mixed. to give variety to the color of the sound. The handbells are accompaniment to the voices, and they play throughout, usually in three-note chords. The setting closes with an Amen and Alleluia.
